The annual Tulip Time Festival has come back to take over Pella once again this year! The tulip flowers were blooming great and the weather has been perfect. With the immense Dutch heritage that flows through Pella and Vriendschap Village, a few of our residents were able to go up town to watch the first of the six parades that occur during the three day festival here in town. We enjoyed all of the sights and sounds of the parade, as well as indulged in a few of the sweet treats that are offered!
With the overcast sky during the parade time, it made for a wonderful outing. The wind made it a bit chilly so we snuggled under a few blankets, or stayed in the warmth of the bus (but still with a great view)! We loved seeing all of the Dutch costumes, friends and family that stopped by, and of course the Tulip Queen on her float! It was a great afternoon for a trip into this wonderful Dutch town!
